Guidance from creator and host, Kevin Allison:

RISK! stories sound conversational, not polished and composed. Unlike anything you would hear on NPR, they are completely uncensored and no-holds-barred in terms of taboo subject matter. They have the raw, candid feel of people sharing stories with their very closest friends over beers around the kitchen table late at night.

RISK! stories are NOT essays about general concepts like “a grandfather’s love” or “the simple pleasures of summertime.” RISK! stories zero in on one incident or one series of closely connected incidents, like “the dinner date where I shat my pants” or “my trip to the hospital when I overdosed on LSD.”

Please listen to the “Best of” to get a better idea of the type of stories The Risk! Show seeks.
