Storytelling for a Cause!

Check out BraVa!  – A Night of Memoir About the Place of Bras in Our Lives
The event is a benefit for the YWCA of the Greater Capital Region, Inc.

Bras are expensive, yo!  …and large, supportive ones are hard to find.  For real.  Come hear jury-selected essays, poems, songs, and monologues while supporting a fantastic, local organization.

Tuesday, November 10 @ The Ale House (Troy)
Hosted by Abby Lublin
7:30 – 9:30 pm
680 River Street
Theme: “Leftovers”

Y’know how sometimes you think you don’t have a story to tell at Front Parlor, then think of one later?  Or you had a great story to tell related to a previous theme?  Or you were all prepared to tell a story, then life happened, and you couldn’t make it?  Or you told a story that begs for a Part II?  Well, THIS is your night.

“Leftovers” is a night of orphaned stories – stories you’ve wanted to tell – or, if you happen to have a fascinating story regarding that food that’s been in your ‘fridge for weeks.

See you this Tuesday at the Ale House.

Monday, November 16 The Olde English Pub (Albany)
Hosted by Gregor Wynnyczuk
7:30 – 9:30 pm
25 Quackenbush Square
Theme: “Anything Goes”

This month bring whatever story you want (or need) to tell. It’s a storytelling potluck, a free-for-all of tales!

As always you can find inspiration in the stories of others, so if you don’t have anything to bring, just show up and discover what needs to be said.

Sign up is at 7:30.

Wednesday, November 18 @ South Street Cafe (Bennington, VT)
Hosted by Forest Byrd
7:30 – 9:30 pm  (Arrive by 7:00 for a seat)
105 South Street
Theme: “Big Disappointment – Pleasant Surprise”

Something terrible happened for the best reasons.  Come tell us about it!

Share widely.

If you’d like to throw your name in the can to tell a story, and you know you’ll be a lil’ late, post a comment here.

See you ’round the mic. And as always…

Listening is an act of love.
