January 2016 Events

Tuesday, January 12 @ The Ale House (Troy)
Hosted by Abby Lublin
7:30 – 9:30 pm
680 River Street
Theme: “Defiance”

There is a city in NW Ohio where residents can claim, accurately, they live in Defiance.

In various ways, we all live in staunch opposition to something. Perhaps your existence is in defiance of statistical averages. Perhaps you have a particular aversion, finely honed, to authority. Perhaps you have a story that defies logic.

See you this Tuesday at the Ale House.  (Unless your resistance extends to having a good time.)

Monday, January 18 The Olde English Pub (Albany)
Hosted by Gregor Wynnyczuk
7:30 – 9:30 pm
25 Quackenbush Square
Theme: “Making Progress”

We’ve all tried to change things – ourselves, others, situations – but change is never easy.

Given this is MLK, Jr. Day, let’s think about the changes we’ve worked toward, and the progress we have and haven’t made. If you’ve struggled with change maybe you’ll find or hear a story that will provide the inspiration to keep trying.

Sign-up is at 7:30 pm.

Tuesday, January 19 @ Taphouse at Catamount Glass (Bennington, VT)
Hosted by Forest Byrd
Seating starts at 7 pm, Stories at 7:30 pm
309 County St., Bennington, VT 05201
Theme: “Easy as Pie”

Have you made a pie?  It’s not easy, but this isn’t about pies, is it?

Come tell about the little things, the big things, that weren’t easy at all, or were easier than you thought. Or maybe it is about pastries. Satisfy sweet teeth with a literal interpretation.

The Taproom has great beers, food, and a large space in the back that’s awesome and suits our story-listening needs!

Share widely.

If you’d like to throw your name in the can to tell a story, and you know you’ll be a lil’ late, post a comment here.

See you ’round the mic. And as always…

Listening is an act of love.
