Front Parlor is a community devoted to hearing and telling stories. We generally have 8-12 storytellers, five or so minutes each, telling true stories. No notes. It’s just like The Moth radio hour, except it’s local storytellers in front of the most loving and supportive audiences anywhere.
This is what we have lined up for September…
Troy
Tuesday, September 10 @ Little Pecks (7:30 – 9:30 pm)
Hosted by Ashok Ramasubramanian
Theme: “Unreasonable”
As George Bernard Shaw said, “The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable man persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”
Bring a story about a time where you didn’t conform to otherwise reasonable expectations. How did that work out?
Albany
Monday, September 16 @ The Olde English Pub (7:30 – 9:30 pm)
Hosted by Michael Corso
Theme: “The Fall”
What do you think of when you think of the fall? Apples, cider, donuts… what about the colors, the falling leaves and the crisp air… This is a season of many pleasures. But as we descend once again into winter, also consider the falls you have taken. What or who brought you down?
Bring a story about what the fall means to you – or what the falls have done to you. How are things different now?
Story Club – Workshop for Stories
Saturday, September 28 @ The Troy Innovation Garage (1:00 – 3:00 pm)
Hosted by Michael De Socio and Gregor Wynnyczuk
We are back! Come for feedback and friendship on the last Saturday afternoon of the month. Bring a story or just listen and share your reactions with others.
